Eurest launches Project Home to create personalized experience connecting former salaried team members with open positions within Compass Group

Charlotte, North Carolina (Feb. 15, 2021) – More than 100 former salaried associates across the U.S. have returned to work into various new roles throughout Compass Group’s 28 sectors because of a new initiative called Project Home, which launched back in September. Project Home is led by Eurest USA, the nation’s largest foodservice company for the business and industry market, and it was created with two goals in mind: bring former salaried associates back home to Compass Group and make the job placement experience smoother and less daunting.

“It’s no secret that the hospitality industry, particularly foodservice, has been hit hard by this pandemic,” said Division President Ed Mugnani, one of the developers of Project Home. “As our dining rooms closed, many of our associates had nowhere to work. We’re making every effort to connect them with a job again. This is on the agenda every week on our leadership calls because it’s that much of a priority for us.”

A dedicated team has connected with more than 750 displaced salaried associates to date, speaking with each associate weekly to find out whether they would like job placement support. The team also identifies a list of open job opportunities within Compass Group weekly and works with an individual every step of the way as many of the displaced associates have not been through the job-seeking process in several years.

Once an opportunity is found that matches an associate’s skill set and work experience, the team re-connects with the associate to inform them about the role and helps the associate with their application and resume. The team will also touch base with the hiring manager to advocate for the associate to be placed in the open position.

“That personal connection is key for Project Home. The people who are making these connections with displaced managers are the ones who worked with them the closest before the pandemic,” said Senior Vice President of Strategic Solutions Beth Cash. “They know the strengths the manager could bring to another role. Not only that, they care about them and want to see them succeed. We’re a family and this is a team effort.”

Project Home builds upon Compass Group’s Labor Share program that launched back in the spring as a way to connect displaced hourly associates with work through a mobile application as accounts began to shutdown.
