Mayor Recognizes Eurest Food with Purpose Change Maker, Team for Sustainability Efforts
At a large manufacturing facility in Neenah, WI, Chef Manager Krisha Janssen and her team are turning food waste into community impact – so much so that their efforts earned praise from Neenah Mayor Jane Lang.
Using Eurest’s proprietary waste tracking system, Waste Not 2.0, Krisha and her team track, analyze and reduce food waste daily. Their commitment to sustainability led to the creation of a composting program that transforms waste from their marketplace. Chef Krisha and her team gather coffee grounds, shells, and vegetable scraps and sends them to the Neenah Twin Oaks Community Garden for composting.
From January 2024 to January 2025, over 94% of the food waste collected was turned into compost, reducing landfill waste and supporting local gardeners. The impact has been so significant that Mayor Lang publicly recognized the initiative, calling it a perfect example of corporate sustainability in action.
“Georgia-Pacific uses the gardens as a way to reduce waste to the landfill by bringing green food scraps from the facility’s Eurest cafe to the Twin Oaks Gardens compost area. Georgia Pacific’s sustainability efforts and gardeners’ gratitude for compost dovetail beautifully,” says Mayor Jane Lang.
Beyond composting, Krisha also keeps her clients engaged by sharing progress in monthly meetings, helping them track their own waste reduction goals Her leadership not only supports Eurest’s mission but also strengthens client relationships by demonstrating measurable impact.
Her commitment to reducing food waste and creating a more sustainable future, earned her the recognition of January 2025’s Food with Purpose Change Maker.
