From Sticker to Support: Making Mental Health Help Visible

May 12, 2025

For Katie Chelcun, a field solutions marketing manager for Eurest, mental health advocacy is personal. After losing someone close to her due to depression, she felt a responsibility to act so that others could get help before reaching a crisis point.

That conviction sparked an idea and a renewed mission to help make mental health resources more visible.

As a marketing leader specializing in digital strategies, Katie launched a nationwide initiative to connect guests across Eurest marketplaces nationwide with mental health support.

During Mental Health Awareness Month, Eurest team members place eye-catching stickers on to-go containers. Each sticker has a QR code that links directly to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), connecting guests with free, confidential support – anywhere, anytime.

“It’s more than a clever phrase on a sticker. It could be an actual lifeline for someone,” shared Katie. “It’s about making sure people know they’re seen and supported. And just knowing where to turn can make all the difference.”

But Katie didn’t stop there. She also sourced expert-led mental health trainings for Eurest field teams – covering topics like burnout, grief and postpartum recovery – so that team members not only feel supported themselves but are also equipped to support one another.

“We are in the hospitality industry and our job is literally to take care of others,” said Katie. “But in order to do that, we have to take care of ourselves first.”

That sentiment resonated deeply with Eurest Cook John Davis, a graduate of Eurest’s 2024 Global University for Lifelong Learning development program. John focused his capstone project on mental heath support in the culinary space, partnering with UK-based The Burnt Chef Project to raise awareness and promote their 24-hour hotline.

“I want to be an advocate for the younger generation in a way I didn’t have – to have somebody behind you saying, it’s going to be alright,” said John. “You may have had a rough day today – and I too have rough days – but somebody is there for you.”

Whether it’s a sticker on a salad lid or a heartfelt conversation behind the line, Eurest team members are helping make mental health support visible, accessible and human.
