Chocolate Hummus

A delicious way to indulge your chocolate cravings. Chocolate hummus is a creamy, dessert-style spread that’s packed with protein and fiber.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup T Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1 T Cocoa Powder
  • 2 T  Maple Syrup
  • 2 T Skim Milk
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • tsp Vanilla Extract
  • ¾ c Garbanzo Beans

Instructions

  • Melt the chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a pot of boiling water.  Remove the bowl from the heat.  Be careful, the bowl will be hot.
  • In a food processor or blender, combine the garbanzo beans, melted chocolate, cocoa powder, milk, salt, and vanilla, and blend until smooth and everything is thoroughly mixed.  Serve cold.

Notes

Vegetarian.
Chef’s Tips: Non-dairy alternatives can be used to substitute the milk, and other liquid sweeteners can be used to substitute the maple syrup like agave nectar.
